Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022 on Thursday, this time headlined by para-powerlifter Sudhir's gold medal and long-jumper Murali Sreeshankar's silver. So far, India has won 20 medals-- six gold, seven silver and seven bronze -- and was at the seventh position on the medals tally at the end of Day 7 of the competition here. Sreeshankar clinched the silver medal in the men's long jump final with a mark of 8.08m, becoming the first Indian male athlete to win a Commonwealth Games medal in long jump. The other Indian finalist in the event, Muhammed Aneesh Yahiya, finished fifth with a best jump of 7.97m.

On Day 7 of the ongoing Commonwealth Games, Murali Sreeshankar won a silver medal in the men's long jump final while para power-lifter Sudhir won gold with a Games record mark of 134.5 points.
