Defending Champions India remained unbeaten in the Hero Asian Champions Trophy as they registered their fourth consecutive victory with a 3-1 win against Korea here at the Moqi Hockey Training Base on Thursday. Skipper Harmanpreet Singh (9', 43') scored a brace in India's win while Araijeet Singh Hundal (8') gave an early lead in the team's win. Having already booked a place in the semifinals, India looked to continue their winning ways against Korea in their penultimate league-stage match.

Recently, Sreejesh received a heartfelt letter from PM Modi congratulating him on his bronze medal win at the Paris Olympics and his retirement from international hockey. In his letter, Prime Minister Modi praised Sreejesh for his "monumental contributions" to Indian hockey and his "quick reflexes, sharp instincts, and calm confidence under pressure." The PM also expressed his confidence in Sreejesh's ability to succeed as the Head Coach of the Junior Men's team. PM Modi added, "I also send my wishes to your family for the immense sacrifices they made off the field to enable your on-field exploits. It was a pleasant experience meeting them along with you a few days ago."

Retired Indian hockey star P R Sreejesh has shared a letter that he received from Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently in which the leader has lauded the former goalkeeper for his service to the game and expressed confidence in his ability to be "impactful" as the new national junior coach. Sreejesh called time on his illustrious 15-year career after India's bronze-winning Paris Olympic campaign, which was the his and the team's second successive Games medal after the bronze in Tokyo.
