The Commander's name was the end result of an 18-month rebrand process that the team said included more than 40,000 fan submissions, countless surveys, focus groups and meetings. "As an organization, we are excited to rally and rise together as one under our new identity while paying homage to our local roots and what it means to represent the nation’s capital," Team co-owner Dan Snyder said in a news release.

On Monday, Sreejesh received yet another honour when he won the prestigious World Games Athlete of the Year for his 2021 performances, becoming only the second Indian to receive the accolade.
India beat China in back-to-back matches in women's FIH Pro League, win second game 2-1
After defeating China 7-1 in their debut match on Monday, the Indians emerged 2-1 victorious against the same opponents at the Sultan Qaboos Complex on Tuesday. While the win was not as goal-heavy as the previous day, what India showed was an ability to play swift, attacking hockey without losing composure.
On debut, India drub China 7-1 in Women's FIH Pro League
Chanu (47th, 52nd minutes) converted two penalty strokes while Navneet Kaur (5th), Neha (12), Vandana Katariya (40th), Sharmila Devi (48th) and Gurjit Kaur (50th) netted one each to hand India a convincing win. China's lone goal was scored from a field effort by Xue Deng in the 43rd minute. With the win, the Indian women's hockey team moved to the third position in the FIH Pro League points table, with three points and a goal difference of plus six.
