India's Sachin Sarjerao Khilari on Wednesday added a Paralympic silver to his world title in men's shot put F46 event with an Asian record distance of 16.32m at the ongoing Games in Paris. The 34-year-old Khilari achieved his best throw of the day in his second attempt to better his own earlier Asian record of 16.30m which he set while winning gold in the World Para-Athletics Championships in Japan in May. Greg Stewart of Canada defended his Tokyo Paralympic gold with a throw of 16.38m. Luka Bakovic of Croatia took the bronze with 16.27m.
India's Nihal Singh and Rudransh Khandelwal failed to make it to the Mixed 50m Pistol SH1 final after finishing 19th and 22nd, respectively, in the qualifications on Wednesday. Nihal finished with a total score of 522 while Rudransh accumulated 517 points in the 60-shot qualification round. Earlier, Nihal failed to make the final of the Mixed 25m Pistol (SH1) after finishing 10th in the qualification. Rudransh and Nihal both had settled for silver and bronze, respectively, in the Mixed 50m Pistol (SH1) at the Para-Shooting World Cup in March this year.

India's challenge in women's singles table tennis at the Paralympics ended here on Wednesday after Tokyo edition's silver-medallist Bhavinaben Patel lost to China's Ying Zhou 3-1 in the class 4 quarterfinal. Bhavinaben, who became India's first-ever medal winner in the sport with her silver in the Tokyo Paralympics, fought hard in the first two games and even won the third but eventually lost to her Chinese rival 12-14, 9-11, 11-8, 6-11. Earlier, the other women's singles player in class 3, Sonalben Patel lost to Croatia's Andela Muzinic Vincetic in the round of 16.
