WSBK Rider Iker Lecuona Headlines Honda’s Suzuka 8 Hours Lineup
Spanish motorcycle racer Iker Lecuona lost his seat at the Tech 3 KTM satellite after just two years in the MotoGP World Championship. When the Grand Prix door closed, however, the Superbike World Championship (WSBK) door flew open, with WSBK Team HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) scooping up the 22-year-old rider for the 2022 season.

OG Motorsport by Sarazin hit back from an enforced late rider change and an electronic issue to complete the FIM Endurance World Cup podium in the 24H SPA EWC Motos earlier this month. After Alex Plancassagne was injured in a crash during Saturday morning warm-up, Alexandre Santo Domingues was called up to partner existing riders Atsumi Cocoro and Roberto Rolfo on the #66 Yamaha.

Yoshimura SERT Motul tweaks EWC line-up as Watanabe gets full Suzuka 8 Hours call
Title-winning Japanese squad Yoshimura SERT Motul will contest its home round of the 2022 FIM Endurance World Championship with a tweaked rider line-up. Having excelled in the opening two events of the EWC season, Gregg Black will take on the fourth rider role, leaving home hero Kazuki Watanabe to join forces with Sylvain Guintoli and Xavier Siméon in the main line-up for the Suzuka 8 Hours.
ERC Endurance-Ducati riders reflect on their early 24H SPA EWC Motos exit
After failing to go the distance in the 24H SPA EWC Motos due to a technical issue, the ERC Endurance-Ducati team’s riders have reflected on a frustrating second round of the 2022 FIM Endurance World Championship. David Checa, Xavi Forès and new recruit Chaz Davies managed to complete 280 laps of the 6.985-kilometre Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps but were forced to retire after 11 hours and 45 minutes due to ongoing problems with the Ducati Panigale V4R’s fuel pump system, which was changed twice during the race albeit to no avail.

Xavier Siméon’s bid for a famous home win when the FIM Endurance World Championship visited his native Belgium for the 24H SPA EWC Motos earlier this month was knocked off course by a technical issue that “never happens”. Yoshimura SERT Motul had been on top after 10 hours only for Sylvain Guintoli to be forced to pit for a replacement clutch and gearbox for his Bridgestone-equipped Suzuki GSX-R1000R after faults developed. The work took more than 25 minutes to complete.

Mike Di Meglio was full of praise for his F.C.C. TSR Honda France team-mate Gino Rea following the thrilling finish to the 24H SPA EWC Motos earlier this month. Rea, a new Honda-powered recruit for 2022, beat home hero Xavier Siméon to the final podium spot after the pair engaged in a dramatic on-track tussle, despite the demanding weather conditions making riding extremely challenging.
