WTCR all set for a Middle Eastern adventure as 2022 calendar is completed
The 2022 WTCR − FIA World Touring Car Cup will be decided by two events in the Middle East when Bahrain and Saudi Arabia host the all-action series from Discovery Sports Events and the FIA for the first time later this season. With the full support of the Bahrain Motor Federation and Saudi Arabian Automobile and Motorcycle Federation respectively, WTCR Race of Bahrain is scheduled to take place from November 10-12 as part of the FIA World Endurance Championship 8 Hours of Bahrain weekend, with the WTCR Race of Saudi Arabia night race event following from November 25-27.

YART completes EWC Bol d’Or testing on top
YART – Yamaha Official Team EWC has completed the pre-test for the deciding round of the FIM Endurance World Championship – the Bol d’Or 24-hour race – at the top of the timing screens. The Austria-based squad clocked a 1m51.921s on Circuit Paul Ricard’s 5.674-kilometre layout this afternoon, eclipsing BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team’s fastest time from Tuesday’s running in the process.
EWC stars continue Bol d’Or testing at Circuit Paul Ricard
Testing for the FIM Endurance World Championship season-deciding Bol d’Or 24-hour race concludes today (Wednesday) with two more sessions. Riders will be in action from 10h00-12h00 CET and 14h00-17h00 with the 100th-anniversary edition of one of motorcycle racing’s most famous events scheduled to take place from 15-18 September as round four of the EWC season.
BMW-powered EWC squad fastest so far in Bol d’Or testing
BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team could be the outfit to beat when the 2022 FIM Endurance World Championship is decided during the 100th-anniversary Bol d’Or next month. That prospect follows the first day of testing for the legendary 24-hour race at Circuit Paul Ricard today, which ended with the Belgium-based squad on top courtesy of a best lap of 1m52.517s around the 5.674-kilometre layout in southern France.
Pitlane Endurance’s Le Mans trio returns for Bol d’Or EWC final
The three riders that placed ninth overall and fifth among the FIM Endurance World Cup contenders in the Le Mans 24 Heures Motos in April will be back for Pitlane Endurance when the 2022 EWC season concludes at Circuit Paul Ricard next month. Pitlane Endurance has confirmed Rodri Pak, Adrian Parassol and Maxim Pellizotti for its 100th-anniversary Bol d’Or attack aboard its Superstock-specification #86 Yamaha YZF-R1 after Joseph Foray (pictured) filled in for Parassol when Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps hosted the 24H SPA EWC Motos in early June.
EWC racer Watanabe gets MotoGP chance
FIM Endurance World Championship podium finisher Kazuki Watanabe will get a dream chance to race in the MotoGP-counting San Marino and Riviera Di Rimini Grand Prix next month after he was called up to replace Joan Mir. Mir suffered injuries to his right ankle when he crashed in the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring on 21 August and was ordered to rest for 15 days, preventing him from competing at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli on 4 September.
