The Indian men's hockey team made a remarkable comeback from three goals down to eke out a sensational 5-4 win over Spain in an edge-of-the-seat thriller in the FIH Pro League in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. Up against world no. 9 Spain, Tokyo Olympics bronze medallists India were stunned when the visitors took a 4-1 lead through a hat-trick from skipper Marc Miralles (20th, 23rd, 40th minutes) and Pau Cunill (14th). But the hosts scored through Harmanpreet Singh (15th, 60th), Shilanand Lakra (41st), Shamsher Singh (43rd) and Varun Kumar (55th) to register one of the most memorable comebacks in the history of the game. Hockey India congratulated PR Sreejesh on completing 250 international caps for India. The goalkeeper achieved this milestone during India's second match against Spain at the FIH Hockey Pro League on Sunday at the Kalinga Hockey Stadium. Arguably one of the best goalkeepers in the world, Sreejesh began his journey with the Indian Men's Hockey team in 2006 at the South Asian Games in Sri Lanka but became a regular feature of the team only since 2011 - a year where he stood out with two match-winning saves in the Final of Asian Champions Trophy against Pakistan.

The defender and drag-flick specialist achieved this milestone during India's first match on Saturday against Spain at the FIH Hockey Pro League home-leg which began in Bhubaneswar. Varun, who hails from Jalandhar in Punjab, made his Senior International debut in 2017 at the Europe Tour of Belgium and Netherlands. He was one of the most promising talents to emerge from India's victorious Men's Hockey Junior World Cup 2016 side.

FIH Pro League by registering a hard-fought 2-1 win over Spain at the Kalinga Stadium on Saturday. World No. 6 Spain took the lead in the 18th minute through a field goal from Marta Segu.
