An absolutely incredible Sadio Mane card has been leaked and is set to come to FIFA 22 before the end of the week, according to noted insider FUT Sheriff!
It was a show of shame in Calabar at the weekend as world football organising body, FIFA, Confederation of African Football (CAF) and top government officials shunned the immortalisation of the country’s first FIFA executive committee member and CAF executive committee, Etubom Oyo Orok Oyo.
SAN SALVADOR : FIFA appointed an interim soccer committee in El Salvador on Monday after a month of match suspensions in the Central America country, following accusations that the national soccer federation was under attack from the government.
The 20 nomination papers pertain to two candidates each for the posts of president, vice president and treasurer, and 14 for the executive committee members. "After conducting scrutiny of nomination forms for the posts of president, vice president, treasurer and executive committee members, all 20 nomination forms have been found correct," RO Umesh Sinha said. Elections are to be held for the posts of one president, one vice president, one treasurer and 14 executive committee members.
football fraternity breathed a sigh of relief as FIFA lifted the suspension imposed on the All Indian Football Federation (AIFF) after 11 days, but the decision came too late for Gokulam Kerala whose hopes of playing at the AFC Women's Club Championship were shattered. FIFA suspended the AIFF on August 15 for undue third-party influence leading to Gokulam Kerala being banned from the club championship -- a pilot tournament before the launch of the AFC Women's Champions League in 2024. The team, winners of the top-flight Indian Women's League, travelled to Uzbekistan to play their group-stage games in the championship's west zone, but were forced to return home due to the ban. "The news of the ban came as a shock to us in Uzbekistan," winger Kashmina Devi told Reuters on Sunday. "All players were really hurt... I haven't been so upset before. "The ban and the timing of lifting it is unfair to Gokulam Kerala because we had been preparing for the tournament for about two months."
The ban on All India Football Federation (AIFF) was revoked by the world football governing body on Friday night. The lifting of the ban means India will be able to host the U-17 Women's World Cup, besides the Indian clubs can now continue to participate in tournaments held under the aegis of FIFA and AFC. "AIFF should have thought about holding the elections in time.
Gokulam Kerala, the reigning Indian Women's League champions, were the worst affected by the FIFA ban on the AIFF as the Kozhikode-based team was not allowed to compete in the top-tier AFC club competition in Uzbekistan. "It is like pinching the baby and rocking the cradle. Because of their inefficiency we lost lakhs," Praveen told PTI, hours after the ban on AIFF was lifted. The lifting of the ban on Friday will allow Indian national teams and clubs to play in competitions under the aegis of AFC and FIFA, but it was a huge loss for Gokulam Kerala as they missed out a chance to rub shoulders with the best sides in Asia. They had finished third in the last edition in 2021. The 23-member team was left stranded in Tashkent after arriving on August 16 ahead of its opening match against home side Sogdiana-W in Qarshi on August 23 and against Bam Khatoon FC of Iran in its next round-robin match on August 26. Gokulam Kerala have written to the AFC to reimburse the money spent on the travel of the players and support staff and on their their accommodation but yet to hear from the continental body. "We have sent mail requesting (for reimbursement) but no response yet (from the AFC)," Praveen said. The AIFF, on its part, apologised to Gokulam Kerala. "#IndianFootball is back on track again after FIFA lifted its suspension on AIFF on August 26," the AIFF tweeted on Saturday. "While we are happy with the turn of events, we are also extremely sorry for @GokulamKeralaFC's exit from the AFC Women's Club Championship due to the suspension," it added.
