'That's how the rules should be' - Lewis Hamilton hit with Abu Dhabi memories at Italian Grand Prix at Monza

Lewis Hamilton said the finish to the Italian Grand Prix in Monza brought back memories of last season’s finale in Abu Dhabi, when Max Verstappen won the Formula One title in controversial circumstances. The last few laps of the Italian GP were all behind a safety car after Daniel Ricciardo’s McLaren stopped on the track and had to be removed. Ad Verstappen won the race just as he did under different circumstances in Abu Dhabi, when then-FIA race director Michael Masi allowed racing to resume on the final lap rather than finishing with a safety car.

Porsche Says Talks With Red Bull To Enter Formula One Fail

Porsche said Friday its negotiations with Red Bull for a partnership that would allow the German luxury carmaker to enter Formula One have failed. "Both companies have jointly come to the conclusion that these talks will not continue," Porsche said in a statement. No details had been given about the deal but reports had suggested that it would involve Porsche buying a 50 percent stake in Red Bull's team and become engine suppliers. Friday's statement came as a surprise as a deal by Porsche had been seen as imminent after fellow German automobile giant Audi announced that it will become an engine supplier in Formula One for the first time in the 2026 season.
