"Would Be Great To See More Tests In Future": Sophia Dunkley Star To NDTV

England all-rounder Sophia Dunkley wants more Test matches in the women's game, saying that the three matches that she has been a part of since her debut in the longest format have all been exciting, despite rain hampering the chances of a result on a few occasions. Dunkley, in an exclusive chat with NDTV, said the kind of cricket on display in women's Tests recently shows how far the game has come and also batted for women's Tests to be increased to five days instead of four.

Star batter Smriti Mandhana, who set up India women's comprehensive win over England women in the first ODI here, said the visitors are trying to give a fitting farewell to pace bowling legend Jhulan Goswami, who is retiring from international cricket after a 20-year-long illustrious career. The 39-year-old Goswami will bid adieu to the game at the end of the ongoing three-match ODI series. She has played 12 Tests (44 wickets), 202 ODIs (253 wickets) and 68 T20Is (56 wickets).

During India Women's comfortable win over England in the first ODI in Hove on Sunday, the visiting skipper Harmanpreet Kaur showed great reflexes to take a stunning one-handed catch to send debutant Alice Capsey packing. Kaur was at short midwicket, with Sneh Rana bowling to the right-handed Capsey. Capsey flicked a full delivery and it was flying fast to the India captain's right. But Harmanpreet was quick to dive low to her right and caught the ball with an outstretched right arm.

The graceful Smriti Mandhana once again enhanced her reputation as one of India's biggest match winners with an attractive 91 that literally decimated England by seven wickets in the opening WODI, here on Sunday. Harmanpreet Kaur won a good toss and veteran India pacer Jhulan Goswami was accuracy personified with 42 dot balls in one of of her last international games as England managed a sub-par 227 for seven, largely due to efforts from the lower middle-order. India were never in trouble during the chase as Mandhana (91 off 99 balls) literally drove and pulled her way before missing out on a deserving sixth WODI hundred by nine runs.
