England Test Side Set To Arrive In Pakistan As Voices Grow Loud Against Shan Masood

The Ben Stokes-led England squad will arrive in Pakistan on Wednesday at a time when national Test skipper Shan Masood is under fire for a series of losses, including a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Bangladesh recently. England will play three Tests in Pakistan beginning October 7, with the first two games scheduled in Multan followed by a match in Rawalpindi. Masood found himself being targetted again on Monday during the pre-series media conference where a journalist asked him in a rather insulting manner why he wasn't quitting as captain. "You mentioned that you'll keep on playing as long as the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) gives you opportunities. Don't you have self-respect or dignity to step aside, considering the team's poor performance and continuous losses?" the journalist asked.

After Player's Tragic Death, County Club Worcestershire Honour Him With This Heartwarming Gesture

County cricket club Worcestershire has announced that number 33 shirt will be retired in memory of left-arm spinner Josh Baker, who tragically passed away earlier this year. Baker was a talented and dedicated homegrown player claimed 43 wickets in 22 first-class matches for Worcestershire. He also took 27 wickets in 25 white-ball appearances for the club, and represented England at under-19 level twice on their tour of Sri Lanka. He had taken 3-66 in the first innings of Worcestershire's four-day 2nd XI Championship match against Somerset at Bromsgrove School, before tragically passing away on May 2 due to a sudden arrhythmic death syndrome. The match was called off early on the final day.

Travis Head Stars As Australia Beat England To Seal ODI Series Victory

Travis Head starred with both bat and ball as world champions Australia beat England by 49 runs in a rain-marred fifth and final one-day international on Sunday to complete a 3-2 series win. England were set for a huge total when opener Ben Duckett (107) and in-form captain Harry Brook shared a third-wicket stand of 132 in 98 balls. But from 202-2 slow bowling proved England's undoing as they lost their last eight wickets for 107 runs to be dismissed for 309, with part-time spinner Head taking an ODI best 4-28. Australia made a blistering start to their chase, with openers Matthew Short (58) and Head (31) sharing a stand of 78 in slightly more than seven overs.

Harry Brook Shatters Virat Kohli's Record, Surpasses MS Dhoni To Achieve Sensational Feat

England cricket team batter Harry Brook shattered Virat Kohli's record to achieve a sensational feat during the fifth ODI encounter against Australia on Sunday. Brook, who was appointed captain for the ODI series in the absence of the injured Jos Buttler, has been enjoying a brilliant run of form. The youngster slammed his maiden century in the third ODI to guide his team to victory and he followed it up with a gritty half-century. On Sunday, he slammed 72 off just 57 deliveries to take his tally of runs in the series to 312. That is now the highest runs scored by a captain in a bilateral series against Australia as Brook broke the record that Kohli achieved back in 2019. Ex-India captain MS Dhoni holds the third position in the list with 285 runs that he scored against Australia in 2009.

England vs Australia Live Streaming 5th ODI Live Telecast: When And Where To Watch

With the series level 2-2, England and Australia square off in the deciding encounter at Bristol on Sunday. Australia was the better in the first two matches, going 2-0 up but England marked a stunning comeback to make the scoreline 2-2. Harry Brook and his team would look to continue the momentum they established in the last two game, with the aim being to go for the kill in the finale. In the last match, Australia openers Travis Head (34 in 23 balls, with four boundaries and two sixes) and skipper Marsh (28 in 34 balls, with two fours and a six) provided a fine start with a 68-run stand. However, after their partnership was broken, it was all downhill for Australia, who was skittled out for 126 in 24.4 overs, thanks to brilliant spells from Matthew Potts (4/38) and Brydon Carse (3/36). England levelled the five-match series 2-2 with a 186-run win.

Yuzvendra Chahal's Subtle Message To BCCI After Heroic Show In County Cricket

Out-of-favour India spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has proved his mettle in the longest format of the game with a successful County stint. Playing for Northamptonshire, Chahal picked only one wicket in the first two games before making a remarkable comeback. The leg-spinner dismissed 18 batters in the next two matches, with his best figures in an innings being 5/45. Chahal, a proven match-winner for India in white-ball cricket, is yet to make his Test debut. After his terrific performance in England, he said that he wanted to present his case for India's upcoming Test series in England next year.

"Disconnected From Reality": Ex-IPL Supremo Slams 'The Hundred', Points Out Flaws

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB)'s financial projections on the profitability of its pet project 'The Hundred' is largely "disconnected from reality" reckoned Lalit Modi, who conceptualised the vastly successful Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008. Modi had little doubt that The Hundred will never be able to attain the international audience like the mega-hit IPL. The ECB is looking at potential Indian investors with deep pockets, preferably owners of IPL teams, who have stakes in other global leagues.
