"Had No Idea About National Anthem": Dirk Nannes Recalls Netherlands' Historic 2009 T20 World Cup Win Vs England

One of the few cricketers to represent multiple international teams, Dirk Nannes has had the honour to represent Australia and Netherlands in international cricket. The pacer represented Netherlands in the 2009 T20 World Cup in England, where they also sealed a historic win against the hosts by four wickets at Lord's. The Dutch were chasing a target of 163 runs and the game went till the final delivery, with the side needing two runs to win. In the final ball, Stuart Broad's direct throw at the stumps resulted in an overthrow and batters Edgar Schiferli and Ryan ten Doeschate took two runs to seal victory. Speaking on cricket.com, Nannes opened up on how side prepared for the match against England in 2009 and he also quipped that he "had no idea about the national anthem".

Despite Poor Form In IPL 2022, Kane Williamson Will Be In Form In Upcoming England Test Series: NZ Head Coach Gary Stead

New Zealand head coach Gary Stead is hopeful that their skipper Kane Williamson, who went through a lean patch in IPL 2022, will be back to his form in the upcoming Test series against England. Williamson played 13 matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad and scored just 216 runs, before flying back to New Zealand on Wednesday for the birth of his second child. "He's a bit disappointed he hasn't got the runs he wanted during the IPL. You don't often see the great players often miss out perhaps as much as he has, but I think what we have to understand, coming back into red-ball cricket, I think that will suit where he's at with his game, his temperament as well," said Stead as reported by ESPNcricinfo.

IPL 2022: Kevin Pietersen Lays Down Reasons For Kolkata Knight Riders' "Dismal Show" This Season

Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen reckons Kolkata Knight Riders are too good a team to be languishing at the bottom half of the points table in the IPL 2022. The Shreyas Iyer-led side started the 15th edition of IPL with promise but its form tapered down as the tournament progressed. The runner-ups of the previous season haven't been able to live up to the expectations as they lost five games on the trot midway through the season. While analysing KKR's slide and flip-flop show in the IPL 2022, Pietersen blamed the constant chopping and changing in the playing eleven.
