India and Pakistan are set for some enthralling cricketing battles on the 22-yard strip, with the two Asian giants set to face each other on multiple occasions in the coming months. With three matches in the Asia Cup likely, India and Pakistan are also scheduled to clash in the ODI World Cup next month. Sourav Ganguly, former India skipper, doesn't agree with certain players' suggestion that it is 'just another game', and wants Rohit Sharma's men to be fully prepared. While Paksitan do have a top team, Ganguly doesn't feel playing India in Ahmedabad on the World Cup stage will be as easy for them as it seems.
Team India arrived in Sri Lanka on Wednesday ahead of their Asia Cup opener against arch-rivals Pakistan in Kandy on Saturday. Ahead of the team's arrival in Sri Lanka, the Indian players took part in a six-day training camp at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Former India captain and star batter Virat Kohli showcased exemplary intensity as he trained with all guns blazing during the six-day camp. In a recent interaction, Kohli shed light on his "aggressive mindset" and how to approach white-ball cricket, especially ODIs.

Pakistan captain Babar smashed a stunning 151 off 131 balls to set up a big win for his team in the Asia Cup opener against Nepal in Multan on Wednesday. During his knock, Babar achieved multiple milestones. He now has the highest individual score by a captain in the Asia Cup, surpassing Virat Kohli in the elite list. Kohli had scored 136 against Bangladesh in an Asia Cup match in 2014. Babar also registered the second-best score by a batter in the tournament
India mauled Japan 35-1 after beating Malaysia 7-5 to enter the semifinals of the men's Asian Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifiers at Salalah, Oman on Thursday. With two wins on the day, India finished second in the Elite pool table with 12 points, and earned a direct qualification for the semifinals. They play in the second semifinal of the tournament on Saturday. In their first match of the day, India won a closely-contested match against Malaysia with Gurjot Singh (7th, 11th, 17th, 29th, 30th) scoring five goals. Maninder Singh (12th) and Mohammed Raheel (21st) were other Indian scorers.
The cricketing buzz all across the globe is mostly centered around the India vs Pakistan clash in the Asia Cup, with the two giants all set to square-off on September 02. Pakistan and India aren't just the two favourites to go through from their group but also touted as the two sides who could face each other in the final of the continental event. Speaking of the Indo-Pak clash on Saturday, former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq feels the team needs to persist with its team, even if it loses the match against India.
India and Pakistan share a cricketing rivalry that's arguably the 'greatest' in the sport. Over the years, India have dominated Pakistan in major events but things took a turn after Babar Azam's men secured a win in the T20 World Cup in UAE. However, as the two teams head into the Asia Cup contest, Rohit Sharma's men are being seen as the favourites, at least statistically. With the game taking place at a neutral venue (Sri Lanka), the Indian team can really fancy their chances of coming out on top despite the world-class line-up that their neighbours have at their disposal.
