Asia Cup 2022 - Not In Our Hands That Teams Take Us Seriously Or Lightly: Afghanistan Spinner Rashid Khan
Ahead of the clash with Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2022, Afghanistan's star spinner Rashid Khan has said that despite participating in many leagues, playing for the national side always comes first for the players. Afghanistan will lock horns with Bangladesh on Tuesday at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The side will be led by all-rounder Mohammad Nabi and sees one change from the 16-member squad that toured Ireland. Samiuallah Shinwari has replaced Sharafuddin Ashraf, who is now a part of the reserves. Spinner Noor Ahmed has also been added to the side.

Shaheen Afridi Off To London For Treatment, Focus On Availability For T20 World Cup
Pakistan's top pace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi will undergo treatment of his knee injury in London. He is expected to regain complete fitness before the T20 World Cup starting mid-October, the PCB said on Monday. Shaheen has departed for London where he will undergo rehabilitation of his injury which he sustained while fielding during the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle in mid-July. The knee injury ruled him out of the second Test against Sri Lanka and subsequent ODI series in Netherlands as well as the ongoing Asia Cup in the UAE.

Virat Kohli was the joint top-scorer for India in the Asia Cup 2022 win against Pakistan on Sunday, but he struggled initially. He got a couple of reprieves before scoring 35 off 34 balls. Just when it looked like Kohli might score a half-century, he was dismissed by Pakistan's Mohammad Nawaz. The focus was on India's top three going into the tournament and all three -- K L Rahul (0), Rohit Sharma (12 off 18) and Kohli -- did not have the best of times in the middle. Kohli's performance failed to impress former Pakistan cricket team spinner Danish Kaneria.
AIFF Fined USD 18,000 By AFC For Fan Invasion During India's Asian Cup Qualifiers In June
All India Football Federation (AIFF) was on Monday fined USD 18,000 by the continental governing body for spectator invasion during its national team's Asian Cup qualifying round matches against Afghanistan and Hong Kong in Kolkata in June. But, the bulk of the amount -- USD 13,500 -- is a suspended fine to be paid in case of repeat offence within two years. The Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) imposed USD 8,000 fine on the AIFF after one home spectator invaded India team's technical bench -- a restricted area -- during the match against Afghanistan.
