Niroshan Dickwella Cleared To Play All Forms Of Cricket Following Ban For Doping

Sri Lanka's Niroshan Dickwella, who was banned for three years due to alleged anti-doping violations, has been cleared to play cricket across all formats, according to the ICC. The 31-year-old cricketer received a three-year suspension after testing positive for a prohibited substance during a random anti-doping test. The ban, imposed by the Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency (SLADA), took effect in August 2024. However, Dickwella appealed the ban and submitted evidence to demonstrate that no banned substances were consumed during the "competition period" and that the identified substance was unrelated to "enhancing sports performance."

"Not Spoken A Word...": Sanjiv Goenka Breaks Silence On MS Dhoni Controversy

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Sanjiv Goenka has opened up on his bond with former India captain MS Dhoni. For the unversed, Dhoni was sacked as captain of the now defunct Rising Pune Super Giants (RPSG), a team owned by Goenka, after they finished second from bottom in 2016. RPSG was one of the teams who featured in the IPL for two seasons, alongside Gujarat Lions, after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) were banned from the tournament in 2016 and 2017, respectively. However, Goenka has now revealed Dhoni has not spoken a word after being removed as captain of the franchise. Goenka also insisted that he and Dhoni still have a very good relationship, adding that the captaincy matter was never an issue.

Not The Time To Look At What Happened At Gabba In 2021: Mitchell Marsh

The Australian team doesn't have the time to think about India's incredible victory at the Gabba in 2021 and ahead of their face-off at the same venue almost four years later, Mitchell Marsh says the home side would rather focus on its ability to bounce back like it did in Adelaide last week. On the previous tour, Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill had starred in a historic series winning fourth innings chase at the Gabba, handing Australia their first loss at the venue since 1988.

"Momentum Is With...": Gavaskar's Massive Take Ahead Of India vs Australia 3rd Test

Australia roared back into contention in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, levelling the series 1-1 with a dominant 10-wicket victory in the pink-ball Test at Adelaide. Now, with the third Test set to commence at the Gabba on Saturday, former cricketing legends Sunil Gavaskar and Harbhajan Singh believe the balance of power has shifted in Australia's favour. Gavaskar highlighted the impact of momentum on the series. "The momentum that India got after the win in Perth went away in the ten-day gap before the second Test," Gavaskar told the official broadcasters Star Sports. "Now the momentum is with Australia because they have won the Adelaide Test, and with just three days before the Gabba Test starts, the momentum is certainly with them."
