MS Dhoni Surpasses Rahul Dravid For This Massive Achievement On Return To Chennai Super Kings Captaincy

The sight of MS Dhoni leading Chennai Super Kings (CSK) once again was welcomed by all on Sunday evening as he guided his team a 13-run win over SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) in an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match. Dhoni was reinstated as the CSK captain after Ravindrsa Jadeja relinquished the top post to concentrate on his own game. With the win over SRH, CSK now have six points from nine matches with three wins as Dhoni led the team to a win in his first match on return to captaincy.

IPL 2022: Twitter Explodes After MS Dhoni Makes Winning Return As CSK Captain

Chennai Super Kings' season got off to a chaotic start when two days before the start of IPL 2022, it was announced that MS Dhoni was handing over the captaincy duties to Ravindra Jadeja. It was not what CSK fans wanted to hear and that too just before the season began. The defending champions were at sixes and sevens on the field as well, losing their opening four matches. They finally registered their first win when they beat RCB. After playing eight games, CSK had won just two. The only team worse off than them were record champions Mumbai Indians. Then came another big announcement, Dhoni was back at the helm as Jadeja wanted to focus on his game. The legendary wicketkeeper had accepted the role in the larger interest of the team. Dhoni's first assignment as captain in IPL 2022 was against the high-flying SunRisers Hyderabad, who had won five of their previous six games.

Rohit Sharma behind Kuldeep Yadav's resurgence, Virat Kohli preferred Axar Patel because of his batting capabilities, says Kuldeep's childhood coach

Kolkata Knight Riders franchise in the IPL, not enough chances in the national team, warming benches, carrying drinks, injury setbacks and a low-priced IPL 2022 contract - Kuldeep Yadav has gone through a lot in the past three years. But the left-arm wrist spinner is back with a bang and is currently second on the list of highest wicket-takers of IPL 2022, with 17 scalps. Kuldeep, who was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders unit from 2014 to 2021, was released by KKR last year and was bought for Rs. 2 crore (base price) by the Delhi Capitals. The wrist-spinner was roped in by KKR in 2014 and was handed his debut IPL cap in 2016. He steadily became a key member of the team, especially in the 2017 and 2018 seasons, in which he claimed, a cumulative, 29 wickets (12 wickets in 2017 and 17 wickets in 2018). But then came the dip. In 2019 and 2020 combined Kuldeep managed to take just 5 wickets in 13 IPL matches. In 2021, Kuldeep had a major knee surgery that ruled him out of the entire edition. Kuldeep's childhood coach Kapil Dev Pandey feels KKR failed to handle Kuldeep properly and the Chinaman bowler should be thankful that he was released by the two-time IPL champions. He spoke to TimesofIndia.com recently about this and more.

"15 Runs Short": Graeme Smith Reveals What Jacques Kallis Said After Australia Plundered 434 In 2006 Johannesburg ODI

No cricket fan can ever forget the 2006 Johannesburg ODI between Australia and South Africa where the latter chased down 435 runs to win the five-match ODI series 3-2. The match witnessed such high drama that the Proteas fans were left in tears when Mark Boucher smashed Brett Lee over mid-on for a four to win the contest for the home team. Former South Africa captain Graeme Smith revisited the classic and revealed Jacques Kallis' words at the mid-innings which "broke the ice" after their team conceded 434/4 in 50 overs.
