All-rounder Hardik Pandya is being tipped as a future India captain after leading an unfancied debut team to victory in the world's most valuable cricket tournament. Pandya's Gujarat Titans thrashed Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in the Indian Premier League final on Sunday, with the skipper taking three wickets and scoring 34 runs in front of nearly 105,000 fans in the world's biggest cricket stadium.
Pandya was quietly caressing the IPL trophy flap as one of the BCCI employees was inscribing the name of new champions 'Gujarat Titans'. It seemed as if an indulgent father was tousling his son's hair with love. That trophy was indeed Pandya's labour of love. For all the hard work put in after some years of circumspection and uncertainties. We all saw it but he dealt with it.
2017 World Cup-winning cricketers Katherine Brunt and Nat Sciver got married over the weekend. Former England pacer Isa Guha shared the picture from the duo's marriage on one of her Instagram stories and wrote: "Proud. Love you both." The official Twitter handle of England Cricket also congratulated the couple on getting married. "Our warmest congratulations to Katherine Brunt & Nat Sciver who got married over the weekend," tweeted England Cricket.
Gujarat Titans clinched the Indian Premier League title in their debut season, comprehensively beating Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in the IPL final. Central to Gujarat Titans' victory on Sunday in the IPL 2022 final was captain fantastic Hardik Pandya. The Indian all-rounder first produced a stunning spell of bowling, taking three wickets for just 17 runs to help his team restrict Rajasthan to 130 for nine in 20 overs. Hardik then played a handy cameo to steady the ship in the chase after GT had lost two early wickets. Following GT's IPL triumph, captain Pandya and head coach Ashish Nehra had a fun chat, a snippet of which was shared on the IPL official Twitter handle.
