England all-rounder Moeen Ali has insisted his recognition in the Queen's Birthday Honours List is about far more than "runs and wickets". When sportsmen or women are named in one of the British and Commonwealth honours lists presided over by Queen Elizabeth II, who is celebrating her Platinum Jubilee this week, it is usually largely in recognition of a successful on-field career. And while the 34-year-old Moeen, who on Wednesday was named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), has made 225 appearances for England in all formats during a 16-year professional career, the dashing Worcestershire batsman and off-spinner has also been a trailblazer for the Asian community in Britain.
Moeen Ali said he is open to playing Test cricket again under new England coach Brendon McCullum. The 34-year-old quit the long format last year with 2,914 runs and 195 wickets from 64 Tests but still plays an important role in England's limited-overs sides. Moeen said McCullum, who was put in charge of the Test team last month, had sounded him out about a potential red-ball return. "Baz (McCullum) messaged me asking if I was 'in'," Moeen was quoted as saying by the Guardian newspaper after being awarded an OBE for his services to cricket.

Virender Sehwag changed the definition of a Test opener with his free-spirited batting for the Indian cricket team. He played 104 Tests, 251 ODIs and 19 T20Is scoring 8586, 8273 and 394 runs in the three formats, respectively. Sehwag was also the first Indian cricketer to score a triple century in Tests. Even for such a great cricketer, there was a phase when he contemplated early retirement. The incident happened during India's 2008 tour of Australia. Virender Sehwag elaborated on the incident, in a show, when asked how to deal with criticism.
