"Thought I Was Cursed In India": Australia Star On How He Turned Around IPL 2022 Campaign After Tough Start

Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh had a memorable Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 campaign with Delhi Capitals, even as the franchise failed to make the play-offs. Marsh scored 251 runs from 8 matches, with two half-centuries and was one of DC's better players in the season. In recent seasons, Marsh has struggled with injuries whenever he has played in the IPL, and this year too, he came in to the tournament nursing an injury and after finally playing a match, he contracted COVID-19.

Ashish Nehra "Tactically One Of The Best Coaches In The IPL": Gary Kirsten

Gujarat Titans ended a magnificent debut Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign by winning the trophy, and among the key people behind their success was head coach Ashish Nehra. Gary Kirsten, the Titans' batting coach and mentor, was all praise for his colleague after the season ended and hailed him as one of the best tactical coaches in the league. Kirsten, of course, knows Nehra very well from his days as India's head coach. Kirsten was the coach, and Nehra a part of the squad, when India won the 2011 World Cup.

Alex Hales set Pakistan Super League alight with some sterling performances for Islamabad United. Hales smashed a total of 355 runs in just nine matches at an average of 44.37 and a strike-rate of 147.30. In the Vitality T20 Blast, Hales started slowly, registering scores of 2, 15, 15 in his first three matches. On Friday, however, Hales finally announced himself by blasting Derbyshire bowlers to all parts of the ground with his 91-run knock for Nottinghamshire. His sensational knock came off just 33 balls with 12 fours and five sixes.

South Africa mindful of Indian fighting spirit

South Africa's limited-overs captain Temba Bavuma had expressed his desire to play and lead a franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Bavuma termed it as his "fantasy". Leading an IPL team might be Bavuma's desire, but leading his national side against India for a five-match T20I series from June 9 is a reality. To make sure the reality turns out to be a rewarding one, Bavuma has been sweating it out at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the national Capital - the venue for the first T20 International between the two teams. The next four will be played in Cuttack (June 12), Visakhapatnam (June 14), Rajkot (June 17) and Bengaluru (June 19).

India vs South Africa: Temba Bavuma's boys 'burn it out' in Delhi

But then there is the call of duty. The South African cricket team has been hitting the nets regularly at Kotla (Arun Jaitley Stadium) despite the city feeling like an incinerator. Their objective is to win the five-match T20I series against India. The IPL stars took it light here on Saturday, but the others toiled hard in the heat. The paradox was evident: Quinton de Kock shadow-practiced his golfing skills with his cricket bat, while another opener in the South African squad, Reeza Hendricks, and skipper Temba Bavuma sweated out.

Ravi Shastri Reveals How Javed Miandad Sledged Him By Mentioning Audi Car During India-Pakistan World Championship 1985 Final

No cricket fan can forget the season Ravi Shastri had in 1985 as he helped the Sunil Gavaskar-led India win the 1985 Benson and Hedges World Championship. In the entire tournament, Shastri registered 182 runs and also took eight wickets. However, he reserved his best for the final against Pakistan. With the ball in hand, he scalped one wicket as he dismissed Tahir Naqqash. And then he went on to play an unbeaten 63-run knock to take India over the line by eight wickets.

CSK's 'chin up' attitude the key to their success in IPL, says Devon Conway

Chennai Super Kings batter Devon Conway has attributed his side's performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) over the years to "keeping your chin up" attitude, which he felt doesn't allow emotions to get the better of players even after big losses. The New Zealander added that despite the fact that the four-time IPL champions couldn't hit their stride in this year's edition of the tournament, there was no despondency in the dressing room, as everyone kept a smile on their face, not allowing defeats to affect them much.
