The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may consider making changes to the 'family diktat' introduced after the Test series defeat against Australia, according to a report by India Today. The report claimed that if players wish to have their families around for an extended period during an overseas tour, they will have to apply for permission. The 10-point guideline from BCCI restricted the time families were allowed to spend with the players during any foreign tour. However, recently, Virat Kohli has expressed his disappointment and stressed on the importance of players having their loved ones close to them during high-pressure situations - particularly during overseas tours.

Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru spinner Shadab Jakati opened up about why he believes the franchise has not won a single Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy till now. Jakati, who played just one game for the team after he was purchased in 2014, alleged that the franchise focuses more on just '2-3 players' and that is not the strategy that has worked out for them. In the past, the team has been criticised for its over-reliance on Virat Kohli and big overseas stars. Jakati added that it is important to get the team composition right in the IPL and that is where Chennai Super Kings are quite different.

Nicholas Pooran has showered support to new Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant adding that the franchise has a balanced squad to lift the title in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, commencing on March 22. Pant was named LSG captain in January after being acquired by the Lucknow-based franchise for a record-setting Rs 27 crore in last year's auction in Jeddah. "We have a good chance, we've a really balanced team (with) experienced and youth (players). We're looking forward to leading with the experienced players," Pooran told IANS. The West Indian wicketkeeper-batter was among the five players to be retained by the franchise for IPL 2025.

The BCCI will form the organising committee of the Women's ODI World Cup besides taking a call on the venues for the ICC event it will be hosting later this year at its Apex Council emergent meeting in Kolkata on March 22. The meeting will take place ahead of the IPL opener between defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Eden Gardens. The BCCI last hosted a Women's ODI World Cup back in 2013. The exact schedule of the tournament slotted in October is yet to be worked out. According to the agenda accessed by PTI, there will be a "discussion on formation of LOC for Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 and discussion regarding venues for Women's Cricket World Cup 2025".

For shorter tours, players could bring their families for a maximum of one week.
