Australian opener Usman Khawaja has stirred controversy for allegedly faking an injury and attending an F1 Grand Prix race in Melbourne on weekend. As per the claim, the southpaw missed Queensland's Sheffield Shield match due to a reported hamstring injury but attended the Australian Grand Prix. However, according to Queensland's Head of Elite Cricket Joe Dawes, there was no injury to the player. Dawes also expressed 'disappointment' for the fact that Khawaja didn't show up for the match vs South Australia, that took place between March 15 to 18.

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday waived the mandatory six-month cooling off period post filing of divorce plea by cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his estranged wife Dhanashree Verma, and directed the family court to decide their divorce plea by Thursday. A single bench of Justice Madhav Jamdar said Chahal would not be available from March 21 as he has to participate in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament. The cricketer and Verma had filed a divorce plea in a family court here on February 5 this year. They had submitted a petition mutually seeking for the cooling off period be waived as their divorce was by mutual consent.

Former Australia captain Michael Clarke supported the BCCI after they decided to ban Harry Brook from the Indian Premier League (IPL) for 2 years. The decision was taken after the England batter pulled out of the competition despite Delhi Capitals buying him for Rs 6.25 crore in the mega auction. According to the BCCI rules, if any player is bought in the auction and then decides to withdraw, he will be banned for two years. Clarke said that he completely understands BCCI's stance in the matter and said that this will be a precedent for the future. He added that players cannot withdraw just because they did not get their desired price in the auction and withdrawals should be restricted to emergency situations.
