Riyan Parag dished out an all-round show to help East Zone hand a crushing 88-run loss to North Zone in the Deodhar Trophy on Friday. Parag first struck a whirlwind 131 from 102 balls (5x4, 11x6) in a 235-run sixth wicket partnership with Kumar Kushagra (98 off 87b, 8x4, 4x6) to power East Zone to a huge 337 for eight in 50 overs after they opted to bat. In the second half of the game, Parag returned to grab 10-1-57-4 with his leg spin to cap an impressive all-round show.

Former India fast bowler RP Singh said pacer Umran Malik will have to improve his skills as a bowler as speed alone cannot be his weapon, adding that he is one of the bowlers in fray to play in the World Cup. “You have a good number of matches before the World Cup. He can get 5-6 games in the Asia Cup, and three more matches (against Australia). Umran has the advantage of pace. Cricket Australia (CA) on Friday pulled out Alyssa Healy and Ellyse Perry from the Women's Hundred at short notice after both players got injured during Tuesday's second ODI against Ireland. Healy suffered a fracture to her left index finger during the second ODI according to a release from CA. She had been playing for Australia in their overseas tour of England and Ireland in spite of suffering from multiple injuries.
