Rohit Sharma Not In Mumbai Indians' 1st Playing XI Once Again vs SRH - Here's Why

Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to bowl first against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 33 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. Both sides are coming into the match with wins in their respective matches and decided to go ahead with the same playing XIs as their previous matches. Mumbai Indians decided to go with former captain Rohit Sharma starting among the impact substitutes. Hardik Pandya said the decision was because of the possibility of the dew playing a role later in the match.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Coach Gives Blunt Verdict On IPL 2025 'Bat Checks': "Wish They Had..."

Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Daniel Vettori on Wednesday said umpires checking for the bat sizes with a gauge in the IPL doesn't make any difference and wished the same parameters were in place during his playing days. Umpires have been checking the bats with a gauge through which the willow must pass in order to eradicate the use of oversized bats. The checks are being carried out by on-field umpires this season and in the latest instance, Kolkata Knight Riders' Anrich Nortje's bat did not pass the test on Tuesday and he had to change it in the game against Punjab Kings.

New IPL Rule Leading To Lower Totals? South Africa Great Says "Check The Scores..."

Three Kolkata Knight Riders batters - Andre Russell, Sunil Narine and Andrich Nortje - failed the gauge test and had to replace their bat during the IPL 2025 match against Punjab Kings on Tuesday. The inspections were done as part of the new IPL regulations that stipulates a certain measurement for the bats. "The triangle-shaped plastic gauge has the dimensions of a legal bat printed on it: depth 2.68 inches, width 4.33 inches, edges 1.61 inches. The curve, or the bulge of the bat, seen on the lower non-hitting side of the bat, needs to be within 0.20 inches," the rule stated. South Africa legend Dale Steyn gave a cheeky take on the rule and said that the scores have gone down from its implementation.

Did Rajasthan Royals Intentionally Commit DRS Blunder vs Delhi Capitals? Ex-India Star's Bizarre Take

The IPL 2025 encounter between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals saw a huge blunder as Abishek Porel got a big outside edge on a delivery from Jofra Archer but the opponent failed to appeal for the dismissal. It was a short delivery from Jofra that troubled Porel and although KL Rahul completed an easy catch behind the stumps, RR did not look interested in appealing. Replays showed that it was a clear outside edge and a DRS call would have resulted in a crucial wicket for RR. While internet criticised RR for their 'brainfade' moment, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh wondered if it was a tactical call as he was struggling to score quickly and despite a strong start, he scored 49 runs off 37 deliveries.

Rajasthan Royals Star Labelled 'Villain' For 'Selfish' Act That Resulted In Loss vs Delhi Capitals

Rajasthan Royals batter Dhruv Jurel faced massive criticism for his 'selfish' act that fans believed led to their loss against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday. Social media users were not happy with Jurel denying a run to Shimron Hetmyer in the final over of the match. Jurel and Hetmyer were at the crease with 9 runs needed in the final over but Mitchell Starc produced a stunning performance to take the match to Super Over. With 3 runs needed from 2 balls, Hetmyer played the ball through covers but Jurel did not come back for the second run. Replays showed that they could have finished two runs by the time the fielder completed the save and Jurel ultimately failed to score 2 runs in the final ball of the over.

After Infamous "Slow" Jibe At Mitchell Starc, Yashasvi Jaiswal Bonds With Aus Legend. Watch

Yashasvi Jaiswal's exchanges with Mitchell Starc became a huge talking point during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy earlier this year. During the first Test in Perth, Jaiswal had famously sledged Starc with a cheeky  "You're coming too slow" remark after taking him on for fun. However, Starc eventually had the last laugh as he dismissed Jaiswal three times during the hotly-contest series, which Australia eventually won 3-1 to reclaim the Border Gavaskar Trophy for the first time after 2015.
