The news of former Zimbabwe skipper Heath Streak's death left the entire cricketing community utterly shocked. Streak, who played 65 Tests and 189 ODIs for Zimbabwe from 1993 to 2005, died on Sunday after battling liver cancer for a long time. His wife Nadine Streak took to her Facebook handle and shared the sad news of her husband's death. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is mulling a change in the venue for the Super Four matches of the Asia Cup in the wake of the heavy rains that have been lashing in Colombo. Five Super Four matches and the final have been scheduled in Colombo from September 9 onwards, but there are hardly any signs of the weather relenting. In that context, the ACC is currently engaged in a discussion with the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and tournament host Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about the possible change of venue.

Sehwag's comments came after the blockbuster game between India and Pakistan was washed out due to rain in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Notably, the ongoing Asia Cup is being held under the hybrid model after India refused to travel to Pakistan for the tournament. The India vs Pakistan ended in a no-contest after rain washed out the entire second innings.
Former Indian umpire Piloo Reporter, who was among the first neutral umpires to officiate in Test cricket, died in Mumbai on Sunday. He was 84. Reporter officiated in 14 Tests and 22 one-day internationals in a career lasting 28 years, including in the 1992 World Cup organised in Australia and New Zealand. Reporter also officiated in 13 first-class matches in which he was a match referee in two. His first match as an umpire was the Delhi Test between India and England in December 1984 while his last appearance was in the Mumbai Test between these two teams in February 1993.
