The esteemed batting pair of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma brought up another record, becoming the fastest pair in world cricket to score 5,000 runs in ODIs. The Kohli, Rohit pair went past West Indies' Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes in the process. The Windies duo had reached the landmark in 97 innings. Kohli and Rohit reached the 500-run mark in the Asia Cup Super 4 match against Sri Lanka on Tuesday.

Rohit became the second-fastest Indian to have scaled Mt. 10k, with Virat Kohli leading the charts. Rohit reached the milestone in 241 innings while Kohli had done so in 205 innings. Indian cricket team star batter Virat Kohli took a leaf out of his Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate AB De Villiers to play a surprisingly audacious shot during the Asia Cup 2023 match against Pakistan on Monday. In the final over of the Indian innings, Kohli was looking to score some quick runs and his shot selection left a lot of fans surprised. On the penultimate ball of the over, he moved across to the off stump to make room for himself but at the last moment, changed his decision. India men's cricket team captain for the Asian Games Ruturaj Gaikwad attended a practice session on Friday in Pune, Maharashtra to start preparing Asian Games.
