The 21-year-old revealed how he earned his first IPL contract with defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders before switching to RCB. "I had never played in a proper tournament before the IPL. I had only played Under-25. I spent six or seven years in trials but was never picked. Every time I visited my parents, they would ask when I'd get a chance in the IPL. But my mum and dad never doubted me. They could see how hard I was working," he said.

The iconic Lord's Cricket Ground will host the final of the expanded Women's T20 World Cup on July 5 next year, the International Cricket Council announced on Thursday. The 12-team tournament will begin on June 12 and feature 33 matches, culminating in a grand finale at Lord's, which also hosted the final of the 2017 Women's ODI World Cup. In addition to Lord's, six other venues will stage matches, including Old Trafford, Headingley, Edgbaston, The Oval, Hampshire Bowl, and the Bristol County Ground.

Mumbai Indians batter Suryakumar Yadav recently reflected on his debut season for Mumbai Indians in 2011 and said that he “barely slept” the night before the game. Suryakumar first came into prominence during the 2011–12 Ranji Trophy season, where he emerged as the top scorer for Mumbai with 754 runs in nine matches. His impressive domestic form earned him a spot in the Mumbai Indians squad the same year. In the 2012 IPL, Suryakumar made his debut for Mumbai Indians against Pune Warriors at the Wankhede Stadium.
