Kaif lambasted Rahul for opting to bowl on a batting first pitch, while also questioning the role of the video analysts. Abhishek Porel and Tristan Stubbs slammed half-centuries as DC posted 208/4 after being invited to bat first at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. In reply, LSG were restricted to 189/9, despite a half-century each from Nicholas Pooran and Arshad Khan.
Skipper Sam Curran played the lead act hitting a well-paced fifty and taking two wickets, as Punjab Kings consigned Rajasthan Royals to a five-wicket defeat in their IPL match in Guwahati on Wednesday. The target was a mere 145, but Kings made heavy weather of it on a sluggish track here but Curran (63 not out, 41b, 5x4, 3x6) had a calm head and skills to lift them to their fifth win of the season. India will play the second semifinal of the T20 World Cup in Guyana on June 27 if the cricketing giants reach the last four stage of the competition. As per ICC's playing conditions for the showpiece in the USA and Caribbean, reserve day is only kept for the final in Barbados on June 29. "If India qualifies for the semi-finals, they will play in the second semi-final scheduled for Guyana on the 27 June 2024," stated the playing conditions. The decision on scheduling has been taken considering the timing of the semifinals in Trinidad and Guyana. The first semifinal in Trinidad on June 26 is a night affair while the knock-out game in Guyana is a day game, more suited for the Indian TV audience.
KL Rahul took a stunning catch to dismiss Shai Hope during the IPL 2024 match between Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals on Tuesday. During the 9th over of the DC innings, Hope slammed a delivery from Ravi Bishnoi straight to Rahul at cover but the LSG captain was taken by surprise. He spilled the catch for a moment before pulling off a dive and complete it before the ball hit the ground. The catch left the commentators and fans stunned as the stadium erupted and LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka was pictured giving Rahul a standing ovation following the impressive catch.
