2nd Test: Mehidy Hasan Miraz Admits To Being Surprised Over India's Attacking Approach

Bangladesh's off-spin all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz said he was taken by surprise over India's attacking approach with the bat on day four of the rain-affected second Test at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Monday. Under sunny skies, India's breathtaking approach with the bat saw them set records for the fastest team 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 in men's Tests. On the back of half-centuries scored by Yashasvi Jaiswal and K.L. Rahul, India declared its first innings on 285/9 in just 34.4 overs after bowling out Bangladesh for 233.

"One Opportunity": India's 156.7 kmph Sensation Mayank Yadav Reveals Gautam Gambhir's Message

Unarguably one of the quickest pacers in the world, Mayank Yadav earned a well-deserved India call-up for the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh. Cashing in on his Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 heroics, Mayank now looks to make the opportunity at the grand stage count. In the Indian team, Mayank would have a familiar face guiding him, having already worked with head coach Gautam Gambhir during his time at Lucknow Super Giants. South Africa Pick Three Spinners For Bangladesh Test Series

South African cricket coach Shukri Conrad on Monday named three spin bowlers in a 15-man squad to play two Tests in Bangladesh next month. The squad was announced on the same day that it was confirmed that South Africa will play Test matches in Dhaka and Chattogram.  The decision was taken following a security assessment by a South African delegation in the country -- more than 200 people died in political protests in Bangladesh earlier this year. Left-arm spinner Senuran Muthusamy was recalled to the squad for the first time since March 2023. He will join fellow left-armer Keshav Maharaj and off-spinner Dane Piedt. Only three specialist seam bowlers -– Kagiso Rabada, Nandre Burger and Dane Paterson -– were selected, along with seam bowling all-rounder Wiaan Mulder.

"Helmet Se LBW Nikal Sakta Hai ": Rishabh Pant's Hilarious Stump Mic Chatter vs Bangladesh

India wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant is often an animated figure behind the stumps, and he was at his enthusiastic best against Bangladesh in the second Test at Kanpur. In fact, Pant came up with another hilarious piece of advice for India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, as India tried to dismiss well-set Bangladesh batter Mominul Haque. With Mominul coming low and looking to sweep Ashwin on every ball, Pant suggested that Ashwin can trap Mominul leg-before-wicket (LBW) even by hitting his helmet. "Helmet se ek LBW le sakta hai bhai (You can get him out LBW with his helmet)," said Pant to Ashwin from behind the stumps.

"Not Promoting Pan Masala": UPCA Reduces 'Gutkha' Advertisements Inside Kanpur's Green Park Stadium

The indirect advertisement of smokeless tobacco products like 'gutkha' inside the Green Park Stadium during an international cricket match is never a surprise considering that Kanpur is famous for the production and trade of pan masala. However, the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has reduced considerably the advertising space normally given to the popular tobacco brands during the ongoing second Test between India and Bangladesh.

After Player's Tragic Death, County Club Worcestershire Honour Him With This Heartwarming Gesture

County cricket club Worcestershire has announced that number 33 shirt will be retired in memory of left-arm spinner Josh Baker, who tragically passed away earlier this year. Baker was a talented and dedicated homegrown player claimed 43 wickets in 22 first-class matches for Worcestershire. He also took 27 wickets in 25 white-ball appearances for the club, and represented England at under-19 level twice on their tour of Sri Lanka. He had taken 3-66 in the first innings of Worcestershire's four-day 2nd XI Championship match against Somerset at Bromsgrove School, before tragically passing away on May 2 due to a sudden arrhythmic death syndrome. The match was called off early on the final day.
