Left-arm spinner Ninad Rathva came up with career-best match figures as Baroda crushed Meghalaya by an innings and 261 runs in under two days to earn a bonus point in their Ranji Trophy Group A match Thursday. If day one belonged to off-spinner Mahesh Pithiya, who grabbed 6/25 to dismiss the opponents for just 103 runs, Rathva wreaked havoc in the second innings, returning figures of 6/28 as the opponents were bundled out for 78 in just 17.5 overs. Lungi Ngidi Ruled Out Of South Africa's Home Series Against Sri Lanka, Pakistan

South Africa fast-bowler Lungi Ngidi has been ruled out of the side's upcoming home series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan due to a groin injury, said Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Thursday. CSA added that Ngidi, 28, recently underwent a medical assessment as part of his structured conditioning period, during which scans revealed bilateral proximal adductor tendinopathy. He will now begin a rehabilitation programme and is expected to return to play in January. It means that South Africa will be without Ngidi's services for the two Tests against Sri Lanka and the all-format series against Pakistan. Ngidi has picked 55 wickets for South Africa in Tests at an average of just 23.14 in 19 Test matches. His last appearance for the Proteas internationally came in the ODI series against Ireland in Abu Dhabi last month.

Nathan Mcsweeney Doesn't Need To Copy David Warner, He Has His Own Game: Usman Khawaja

Veteran Australian opener Usman Khawaja backed his new opening partner Nathan McSweeney, urging him to play his own game against India in Perth rather than trying to ape David Warner, who was a "special player" in his own right. Approaching his 38th birthday, Khawaja, a veteran of 73 Tests with nearly five and half thousand runs and 15 tons, also believed that needing to score runs at a quick clip is nothing but an urban myth, and advised McSweeney to just "repeat the process" which has worked for him till date.

Focus On Rinku Singh's Form And Batting Position As India Aim Series Win vs South Africa

Rinku Singh's batting slot and circumspect approach must be a cause of concern for the India team going into the deciding fourth T20I against South Africa as the side aims for another bilateral series victory in Johannesburg Friday. Centuries by Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma on either side of an inept batting performance has kept India's nose ahead in the series and team would want a more collective batting effort to clinch it 3-1. The Wanderers 'Bull Ring' has always been a happy hunting ground for India, where they won the 2007 T20 World Cup final against Pakistan.
