Tam McManus called for sense as a sea of sectarianism and sickening behaviour threatens to drown our game again. The former Hibs striker and now Record Sport pundit wrote in his column the fumes of alcohol are fanning the filth in Scottish football and that every club should follow his old one in calling out their own fans. Something Al Connolly, Muirend, Glasgow , wholeheartedly agreed with. He said: “Well said, Tam. Hibs have problems with their own support but the club acknowledged this. It’s time every other team did the same – from Rangers to Celtic, Hearts – and the rest.” Now for this impassioned address from Scott Scott, Grassmoor: “I still walk down Easter Road and Edmiston Drive being abused verbally as a ‘dirty fenian b******’. So rather than belittling Hibs for wanting to rid our game of all morons, why not help them turn our country into a modern all encompassing society that welcomes all faiths, colours and sects? To do nothing is cowardly and inexcusable. It’s 2024 not 1690.”
