Star Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra will have the company of three other compatriots in the Doha leg of the prestigious Diamond League Meeting on May 16 as the country will have maximum representation ever in a DL event. Chopra, who won the title here in 2023 (88.67m) and finished second in 2024 (88.36m), will be joined by Kishore Jena in the men's javelin throw. Jena took part in 2024 also and had finished ninth with a throw of 76.31m. The star-studded field in the men's javelin throw will have the likes of two-time world champion and Paris Olympics bronze winner Anderson Peters of Grenada, 2024 winner Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic, Julian Weber and Max Dehning of Germany, Julius Yego of Kenya and Roderick Genki Dean of Japan.
Hockey India president and former captain Dilip Tirkey lauded the Indian Armed Forces for their execution of the Operation Sindoor in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, saying that it should continue and the country is with its security forces. Speaking to ANI, Tirkey said, "Our forces are successfully carrying out Operation Sindoor... Terror camps have been destroyed successfully. Pakistan's drone attacks were also destroyed successfully by our forces. The Operation Sindoor should continue, and we are with our security forces."

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is involved in "active and ongoing discussions" with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding their scheduled white-ball tour to the country this month. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has zeroed down on a date for the restart of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, sources close to the board told NDTV. The tournament was suspended for a week amid tensions at the border between India and Pakistan. However, with India and Pakistan agreeing over a ceasefire, the tournament is expected to resume, most likely by Saturday. According to NDTV sources, the IPL governing council is planning to extend its window till May 30 when the tournament resumes after the suspension.

As per a report, the BCCI and the franchises have started making calls to recall the players, even as the board awaits clearance from the Indian government over the date on which the T20 league can be resumed.
