Indian athlete Tejaswin Shankar wrote history on Wednesday by winning India's first ever medal in high jump event in the Commonwealth Games history. At the ongoing Games in Birmingham, the 23-year-old Shankar finished third on the podium by clearing a high jump of 2.22m in the final. Bahamas' Donald Thomas and Joel Clarke-Khan of England also cleared an equal height as of Shankar but they needed more than one attempt to do it while the Indian athlete was successful in his single try.

Grewal defeated Johnson 5-0 in the bronze medal match. Grewal bagged the medal in only three minutes and 30 seconds.
Indian grappler Divya Kakran clinched a bronze medal in the Women's Freestyle 68 kg in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 after defeating Tiger Lily Cocker Lemalie of Tonga here at the Coventry Arena Wrestling Mat B on Friday. Kakran defeated Lemalie 2-0 in the bronze medal match. Kakran bagged the medal in only 26 seconds via Victory by Fall. The fifth wrestling medal of the day extends the medal tally to 25 for India at Birmingham 2022.
