Body of Shane Warne in Bangkok as Australia arranges return home

Warne remained in Thailand for another day on Tuesday, police said, as consular officials worked on logistics to bring home the man widely regarded as one of the finest spin bowlers of all time. Warne, age 52, died last Friday while on holiday on the island of Koh Samui. Local authorities said Warne died due to a suspected heart attack and congenital disease.

Will Graeme Smith be able to solve SA players' IPL impasse before ending stint on March 31? Nortje doubtful

CSA's Director of Cricket Graeme Smith to find a middle-of-the-road solution with regards to availability of top South African players in the IPL earlier than April 15. Delhi Capitals could be doubly hurt as Anrich Nortje hasn't bowled a lot since November and it's not clear if CSA's medical team will give him clearance to play in the Indian Premier League. Some of the top South African cricketers are in danger of missing out on three weeks of IPL due to their home series against Bangladesh which includes three ODI and two Tests starting March 18 and ending on April 12. Save for Quinton de Kock, who has retired from Test cricket and will play for Lucknow Supergiants, there is no certainty on whether Proteas pace attack of Kagiso Rabada (Punjab Kings), Nortje (DC), Marco Jansen (Sunrisers Hyderabad), Lungi Ngidi (DC) will be available before the Test series against Bangladesh ends.

Shane Warne would have done terrific job as England coach: Ricky Ponting

Shane Warne would have been a "terrific" England coach with his immense knowledge of the game, former Australia captain Ricky Ponting said in an emotional tribute to the legendary spinner. Following the sacking of Chris Silverwood in the aftermath of Australia's 4-0 Ashes win, Warne had confided to his friends about his aspiration to become England coach, weeks ahead of his shocking death due to suspected heart attack while holidaying in Thailand. "His (Warne's) passion and knowledge for the game is something to behold.

Security and sounds the abiding memories of docile Islamabad draw

As far as the cricket goes, you can probably gather all you need to know from the fact that it was the first Test in history with a century opening partnership for three innings in a row. Or from the fact that Australia never got close to batting a second time. In the end Pakistan made 728 runs for the loss of four wickets in the match. Fold in the Australian innings and it read 1187 for 14. What else could be expected on a pitch the colour and character of a tranquilised Labrador.

1st Test: Imam-ul-Haq gets second hundred, Rawalpindi run-feast ends in a draw

Imam-ul-Haq smashed his second hundred in the run-feast in Rawalpindi but Australia's first test in Pakistan in 24 years ended in a dull draw on Tuesday. Opting to bat on run-filled surface, Pakistan had made 476-4 before declaring their first innings at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. By the time they bowled out Australia for 459 on the final day, the chances of any team winning the contest had evaporated.
