Quinton de Kock applauded an "unbelievable" performance from the Lucknow Super Giants after they defeated the Chennai Super Kings by six wickets to seal their first win in the Indian Premier League (IPL). De Kock (61) and captain KL Rahul (40) set an opening partnership of 99 runs and Evin Lewis smashed an unbeaten 55 off 23 balls as the Super Giants chased a target of 211 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday. The Super Giants are one of two new franchises in the 10-team IPL Twenty20 competition this season.
Babar Azam and opener Imam-ul-Haq smashed brilliant centuries to help Pakistan pull off their highest ODI run-chase in a six-wicket triumph over Australia in Lahore on Thursday. Azam hit an 83-ball 114 and Haq notched a 97-ball 106 as Pakistan chased down a stiff 349-run target with six balls to spare to level the three-match series at 1-1. Ben McDermott cracked a maiden ODI hundred in Australia's imposing total of 348-8 on a flat Gaddafi Stadium pitch.
Lucknow Super Giants' skipper KL Rahul said Ayush Badoni is a strong 360-degree player and an asset for white-ball cricket in India, after the youngster displayed his skills with the bat in a six-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Thursday. Badoni (19 not out in 9 balls), who scored a half-century in the previous game, joined forces with Evin Lewis (55 not out) towards the end to help the Super Giants chase down a mammoth 211-run target. "Badoni, I'd seen a few videos, when you only get to see the good shots, but the way he's been batting is phenomenal. Strong, 360-degree player, a great find for India and an asset for white-ball cricket," Rahul said at the post-match presentation here.
Kolkata Knight Riders would be more proud than disappointed after their three-wicket loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday night. Despite putting up a sub-par total (128), the Knight Riders bowlers did well to make a match out it against a side which got over 200 runs in their previous match. No wonder skipper Shreyas Iyer was all praise for his team. “I am really proud of the way we played this game and took it till the last over,” he said.
Lucknow Super Giants pulled off a miraculous six-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings on Thursday as they chased down a massive 211-run target. The newly-formed franchise registered the fourth highest successful run-chase ever in the history of the IPL for their maiden triumph. Lucknow Super Giants had begun their IPL journey with a loss against the other new franchise Gujarat Titans. And as the wait for the first win finally ended for Lucknow, the franchise members were visibly elated. Lucknow's mentor, former India cricketer, Gautam Gambhir was silent and not showing any emotions as such through Lucknow's epic run chase against the defending champions. But when his team tied the scores and it was clear they were going to win, Gambhir was all pumped up and euphoric.

Chennai Super Kings' veteran all-rounder Dwayne Bravo on Thursday went past Lasith Malinga to become the Indian Premier League's (IPL) highest wicket-taker during his team's match against Lucknow Super Giants here. Bravo, who was tied with Sri Lankan legend Malinga at the top spot with 170 wickets, dismissed LSG batter Deepak Hooda in the 18th over of the innings to break the former Mumbai Indians' bowler's record. Bravo would have had his record wicket a lot earlier had Moeen Ali not dropped a simple catch to let off Quinton de Kock.
