Manchester will not get a new HS2 line, according to reports this evening. Sky News has reported that the high-speed railway line will stop at Birmingham, where trains will continue to Manchester on the existing West Coast Mainline track.

Not a lot of sympathy for Michael Beale but plenty of support for Steven Davis is the order of the day on the Hotline as the interim Rangers manager prepares for his first match in the dugout.John Bruce emailed: "Henry Ford famously said: 'If you keep on doing what you've always done, you'll keep on getting what you've always got'. John Robertson, South Queensferry, said: "We need someone who understands the club, hopefully an ex player and not a soft touch like Van Bronckhorst, let's hope. McInnes or Muscat would seem to fit the bill. This time it has to be right, we cannot continue playing second fiddle to an average Celtic team.
