R Ashwin's Wife Posts Special Message On Instagram Ahead Of Bangladesh Tests

Indian cricket team spinner Ravichandran Ashwin's wife Prithi Narayanan had a special message ahead of the start of the home season. India take on Bangladesh in the first Test match at the M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai starting September 19. Before the match, the BCCI has organised a pre-series camp for the cricketers at the same venue. Prithi took to social media platform Instagram and posted a picture of Ashwin in India's training jersey on her story. The caption along with the picture of the veteran India spinner read - "Chennai, Test match feelings are coming. Right?"

India's squad for the 1st Test against Bangladesh, starting September 19, was announced last week with KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant making their much-awaited returns to the side. While Rahul played for India during the first two Test against England on home soil, Pant's last series in the whites for India, co-incidentally, was against Bangladesh in December 2022 before an unfortunate car accident accident sidlined him. With several senior players sidelined due to various reasons, Sarfaraz Khan made his much-awaited India debut against England and was an instant hit.

After a long gap of 45 days, the Indian cricket team is set to return to action next week as they take on Bangladesh in the first Test of a two-match series in Chennai. Ahead of the series opener, the Rohit Sharma-led side assembled in Chennai on Friday, with head coach Gautam Gambhir leading a training session at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The series will be Gambhir's first Test assignement since taking over as head coach from Rahul Dravid in July. Since making their Test debut in 1932, India have featured in 579 matches. While they have won and lost 178 games each, a total of 222 matches have witnessed a stalemate.

India's two-match Test series against Bangladesh is set to kick off on November 19. The series will also see Rishabh Pant making his comeback to Test cricket as the player missed the format since his horrible car crash in December 2022. While Pant will be the cynosure of all eyes, it will also be interesting to see if the Indian cricket team shows more trust on KL Rahul's experience or it goes with a young Sarfaraz Khan, who has piled lots of runs in the past few years. India skipper Rohit Sharma and batting stalwart Virat Kohli arrived here for the first Test against Bangladesh, scheduled to commence on September 19. Wearing a yellow jersey, Rohit was seen emerging from the airport escorted by security personnel, in a PTI Video on Thursday night, while Kohli came directly to Chennai from London in an early-morning flight. The likes of India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul and wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant had earlier reached the city on Thursday.

Star India batter KL Rahul earned a recall to the side for the upcoming first Test against Bangladesh, starting September 19. The veteran batter, who last played a Test earlier this year on home conditions against England, is likely to reclaim his place from domestic stalwart Sarfaraz Khan, despite the latter impressing on his first-ever India call-up. For the unversed, Rahul only lost his place to Sarfaraz due to an injury. While analysing the squad, former India batter Aakash Chopra suggested that Rahul will have a point to prove.
