Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni smashed quick-fire half centuries to help Lucknow Super Giants recover to a respectable 158/6 against Gujarat Titans in the IPL on Monday after pacer Mohammed Shami blew away their top-order with a sensational spell. Shami (3/25), produced one of most breath-taking spells in the IPL, to leave Lucknow reeling at 29/4 in the fifth over. KL Rahul was visibly disappointed during the ongoing Match 4 of IPL 2022 between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Gujarat Titans (GT) as the wicketkeeper-batter got dismissed for a golden duck at the hands of pacer Mohammed Shami. Rahul lost his wicket in the first delivery of the innings itself, receiving a full ball by his Team India teammate. Rahul tried to defend it, but saw it go past his outside edge to wicketkeeper Matthew Wade for a catch. The umpire was initially unmoved but an excited Gujarat team reviewed it. In the replays, UltraEdge showed a spike which proved that there was a clear deflection and the 29-year-old had to depart for a golden duck.

Punjab Kings' all-rounder Odean Smith's pyrotechnics against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have earned him a huge following, with fans going all out to praise his unbeaten 25-run cameo, which came off just eight deliveries and helped his side win their opening game by five wickets. Shahrukh Khan (24) and Smith's (25) power hitting down the order helped Punjab Kings chase down the imposing 205-run target with one over to spare. The 25-year-old Smith, who came in when things started slowing down, made his intent clear when the equation had come to 36 needed off 18 balls. The Jamaican was at 2* off 3 balls, but over the next five legal deliveries Smith faced, he changed the course of the game.
