On a record-shattering day, five-time champions Australia went on to bowl out the Dutch for just 90, completing a World Cup record 309-run rout. Maxwell's stunning assault bettered the record of South Africa's Aiden Markram who blasted a century off 49 balls against Sri Lanka at the same venue 18 days ago.
Abdullah Shafique finally ended Pakistan's 1168-ball wait for a six during the powerplay overs as he slammed Naveen-ul-Haq for a maximum during the Cricket World Cup 2023 match against Afghanistan in Chennai on Monday. Star India batter Virat Kohli struck his 48th ODI century on Thursday as India defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets in their World Cup match in Pune. Kohli crossed the 100-run mark after hitting a six off Nasum Ahmed's delivery. It was the last action of the match as Kohli needed three runs to reach the milestone while India only required two runs to win. While Kohli did manage to score his century, umpire Richard Kettleborough's decision of not calling Nasum's delivery as wide caught the attention of everyone.
Bangladesh stand-in captain Najmul Hossain Shanto has rubbished the suggestion that spinner Nasum Ahmed "intentionally" bowled a wide ball to deny Virat Kohli a century towards the end of India's chase in their World Cup clash. Kohli was batting on 97 with nine overs left and India needing another two runs to achieve the target of 257 here on Thursday, when Ahmed sent a delivery down the leg side, which surprisingly was also not adjudged a wide by the on-field umpire Richard Kettleborough.

Indian cricket team star batter Virat Kohli achieved an impossible feat by helping India score 14 runs in just one legal delivery during the Cricket World Cup 2023 match against Bangladesh on Thursday. The feat was achieved against Hasan Mahmud during the 13th over of the India innings when Kohli took advantage of the bowler's lack of discipline. Kohli came out to bat after the dismissal of India skipper Rohit Sharma and scored two runs off his very first ball. However, the umpire adjudged it a no-ball and the veteran batter slammed the resultant free-hit for a boundary through mid-on. Unfortunately, it was a no-ball once again and Kohli was awarded another free-hit which he heaved over the long-on fielder for a massive six.
