Don Bradman's 93-year-old Batting Record Broken, England Star Achieves Major Feat

English batter Ben Duckett surpassed Sir Don Bradman's record of scoring the fastest 150 runs at Lords on Friday against Ireland. Even though Duckett (182) fell 18 runs short of scoring a double hundred at the end of the day, still his knock was enough to surpass Bradman's long-standing record. While shattering the 93-year-old record, the left-handed batter also registered another milestone in his name as he became the first batter since 1924 to score 100 runs before lunch in a Lord's Test. Duckett took 150 balls to complete 150 runs, 16 balls less that the legendary Sir Donald Bradman, who took 166 balls to reach the milestone against England in 1930.

'David Warner Is Looking Good For WTC Final, Ashes', Says Usman Khawaja

Australian batting stalwart Usman Khawaja believes fellow opener David Warner is probably at his best as he prepares for the tough English summer, which includes the World Test Championship final against India and the Ashes. Warner, 36, had endured a difficult tour of India earlier this year, and even though the Delhi Capitals skipper showed attacking intent while amassing 516 runs from 14 matches in the IPL, he will have his task cut out in the seaming English conditions. However, Warner, likely on his final tour of England, received a big endorsement from Khawaja, who said the stalwart was "looking good" for the challenges ahead.

Not Ishan Kishan! Harbhajan Singh Picks Player Who Could Have Replaced KS Bharat In WTC Final

Team India will be without the services of star wicektkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant in the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final. Pant was involved in a car crash last year and has been on the road to recovery ever since. In his absence, KS Bharat is likely to keep the gloves, with youngster Ishan Kishan as the backup wicketkeeper. While analysing India's squad, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh feels Wriddhiman Saha could have replaced KS Bharat as a wicketkeeper in the WTC final against Australia.

"Got A Bit Of Attitude...": Ricky Ponting On Why Shubman Gill Would Be Key For India In WTC Final

With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 done and dusted, the focus now shifts towards the longest format of the game as India take on Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) final. With KL Rahul out injured, the responsibility will be on Shubman Gill to partner Rohit Sharma at the top of the order. Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting feels Gill has a bit of class and swagger in his stroke making, adding that the 23-year-old will play an important role in the WTC final.

Virat Kohli Hits Nets, Gets Into Groove Ahead Of WTC Final vs Australia. See Pics

With less than week left for the start of the World Test Championship (WTC) final, star India batter Virat Kohli hit the nets on Friday to get into his groove ahead of the all-important clash against Australia. Kohli had a brilliant season with the bat in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League, where he scored 639 runs in 14 matches with the help of two centuries. The 34-year-old has been in excellent form of late with the bat. He will look to carry forward that form in the WTC final against Australia.

'Shouldn't Pick XI Like...': MSK Prasad Warns India Against Repeating 2021 Mistake

India should not pick the playing XI for the World Test Championship final with a pre-determined mindset like they did two years ago, says former chief selector MSK Prasad, who feels it would be very tough to fill the injured Rishabh Pant's shoes as his overseas feats are unparalleled. India's move to pick two spinners -- Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja -- in the 2021 WTC final against New Zealand backfired as pacers dominated the game in overcast conditions at Southampton.

India Star's Return To 'Best' Form An "Ominous Warning": Ricky Ponting's Clear Message To Australia Ahead Of WTC Final

Australia will have to guard against the "thorn in their side" Cheteshwar Pujara and a "back at his best" Virat Kohli if they are to counter India in the World Test Championship final at The Oval next week, feels legendary cricketer Ricky Ponting. India's Test batting mainstay Pujara could provide valuable insights to his teammates, having played extensively at Sussex in the English County Championship, while Kohli is at his absolute best having cracked two centuries and six half-tons for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League.

On India's Decade-Long ICC Title Drought, Ex-CSK Star's "Mindset" Remark

The great Matthew Hayden reckons India's title drought in ICC events in the past decade has to come down to the players' mindset as skill was never an issue and has advised them to "forget about the outcome" going into the World Test Championship final against Australia. India's last ICC title came under the leadership of MS Dhoni back in 2013 and since then the team has fallen short in high pressure knock-out games including the 2017 Champions Trophy final against Pakistan, 2019 ODI World Cup semifinal versus New Zealand and more recently the T20 World Cup semifinal against England last year.
