Gaikwad's numbers, both for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League and T20Is for India remain impressive, yet the opening batter didn't find a place in the squad. However, a report has claimed that potential Test call-up for the Australia tour is the reason behind the selectors deciding to snub Gaikwad for Bangladesh T20Is.
Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne described wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant as the most "amusing" player in the Indian team, ahead of the upcoming five-match Test series between the fierce rivals. Pant, who is set to tour Australia for the third time, will look a play a vital role in India's Border-Gavaskar trophy defence, starting with the first Test in Perth from November 22. Travis Head starred with both bat and ball as world champions Australia beat England by 49 runs in a rain-marred fifth and final one-day international on Sunday to complete a 3-2 series win. England were set for a huge total when opener Ben Duckett (107) and in-form captain Harry Brook shared a third-wicket stand of 132 in 98 balls. Australia made a blistering start to their chase, with openers Matthew Short (58) and Head (31) sharing a stand of 78 in slightly more than seven overs.
England cricket team batter Harry Brook shattered Virat Kohli's record to achieve a sensational feat during the fifth ODI encounter against Australia on Sunday. Brook, who was appointed captain for the ODI series in the absence of the injured Jos Buttler, has been enjoying a brilliant run of form. The youngster slammed his maiden century in the third ODI to guide his team to victory and he followed it up with a gritty half-century. On Sunday, he slammed 72 off just 57 deliveries to take his tally of runs in the series to 312. That is now the highest runs scored by a captain in a bilateral series against Australia as Brook broke the record that Kohli achieved back in 2019. Ex-India captain MS Dhoni holds the third position in the list with 285 runs that he scored against Australia in 2009.

Australia was the better in the first two matches, going 2-0 up but England marked a stunning comeback to make the scoreline 2-2. Harry Brook and his team would look to continue the momentum they established in the last two game, with the aim being to go for the kill in the finale. In the last match, Australia openers Travis Head (34 in 23 balls, with four boundaries and two sixes) and skipper Marsh (28 in 34 balls, with two fours and a six) provided a fine start with a 68-run stand.
