The 26-year-old was at the fourth spot at the end of the fourth round before managing a throw of 85.58m in his fifth attempt that kept him inside the top three. His final attempt of 89.49m on Thursday helped him finish second behind Grenada's Anderson Peters (90.61m).

Gout Gout, a 16-year-old sprinter, left spectators stunned after running 100 metres in just 10.2 seconds at this year's Queensland Athletics Championships in Australia. Gout, born in Australia to Sudanese parents, spent the first 40 metres in line with his fellow sprinters. However, he finished the race around 10 yards in front of the second fastest sprinter, covering the remaining 60 metres in full-throttle. Fans were left awestruck as a video of Gout's incredible sprint surfaced on social media.

Indian Olympian Bhawna Jat Handed 16-Month Ban By National Anti-Doping Agency
Indian race walker Bhawna Jat has been handed a 16-month ban by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) on Friday for whereabouts failures. The 16-month ban will commence from the date of her initial suspension on August 10, 2023, and will end on December 10, 2024, according to Olympics.com. Although the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel (ADDP) made the decision to suspend Bhawna under Article 2.4 of the NADA Rules on July 10, 2024, it was only listed on their website on Thursday. NADA had provisionally suspended Bhawna in August last year, which prevented her from competing at the World Athletics Championships 2023 in Budapest, Hungary.
