While Nadeem declined the invitation, Neeraj has come under a lot of criticism following the Pahalgam terror attacks. The Olympic gold medalist was criticised heavily on social media for inviting a Pakistan athlete while the country was shaken by the attack in Jammu and Kashmir. However, Neeraj clarified that the invitations were sent much before the attack and slammed the "hate and abuse" directed towards him as well as his family.
