BEIJING : Sweden's Almida de Val and Oskar Eriksson added a mixed doubles medal to their country's glittering Olympic curling trophy cabinet after clinching bronze with a 9-3 dismantling of Britain at the National Aquatics Centre on Tuesday.
Australia’s mixed curling team returned to the ice to claim their first win of the round-robin competition hours after being told they were being thrown out of the tournament due to a positive coronavirus test.

Sweden beat Switzerland 6-1 whilst Norway recorded an entertaining 10-4 victory against Australia in the seventh mixed doubles curling session at the National Aquatics Centre. Oskar Eriksson and Almida de Val eased past Swiss pair Martin Rios and Jenny Perret, meaning Sweden climb to second in the table and overtake Team GB in the process. Australia are still seeking their first win and remain rock bottom after an unsuccessful comeback attempt, whilst Norway remain eighth and still within a medal shot after their convincing victory.
Team GB flagbearer Eve Muirhead backed Scotland’s curlers to bring home an incredible haul of three medals from Beijing.
