Olivier Giroud fired AC Milan back into European football's elite on Wednesday with his brace in a 4-0 win over Salzburg which granted his team passage to the Champions League knockout stages.
"AC Milan is happy to announce Stefano Pioli has extended his contract until 30 June 2025," said Milan in a statement. Pioli, whose previous deal was due to expire at the end of this season, won Milan's first league title in 11 years last season after taking charge in October 2019.

French World Cup winning defender Raphael Varane's hopes of playing in this year's finals dimmed on Wednesday as Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag said he will not play before the tournament gets underway on November 20.
