R Ashwin's Wife Posts Special Message On Instagram Ahead Of Bangladesh Tests

Indian cricket team spinner Ravichandran Ashwin's wife Prithi Narayanan had a special message ahead of the start of the home season. India take on Bangladesh in the first Test match at the M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai starting September 19. Before the match, the BCCI has organised a pre-series camp for the cricketers at the same venue. Prithi took to social media platform Instagram and posted a picture of Ashwin in India's training jersey on her story. The caption along with the picture of the veteran India spinner read - "Chennai, Test match feelings are coming. Right?"

After a long gap of 45 days, the Indian cricket team is set to return to action next week as they take on Bangladesh in the first Test of a two-match series in Chennai. Ahead of the series opener, the Rohit Sharma-led side assembled in Chennai on Friday, with head coach Gautam Gambhir leading a training session at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The series will be Gambhir's first Test assignement since taking over as head coach from Rahul Dravid in July. Since making their Test debut in 1932, India have featured in 579 matches. While they have won and lost 178 games each, a total of 222 matches have witnessed a stalemate.

India skipper Rohit Sharma and batting stalwart Virat Kohli arrived here for the first Test against Bangladesh, scheduled to commence on September 19. Wearing a yellow jersey, Rohit was seen emerging from the airport escorted by security personnel, in a PTI Video on Thursday night, while Kohli came directly to Chennai from London in an early-morning flight. The likes of India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul and wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant had earlier reached the city on Thursday.

Star India batter KL Rahul earned a recall to the side for the upcoming first Test against Bangladesh, starting September 19. There were some concerns after a threat issued by Hindu Mahasabha regarding protests against the Bangladesh cricket team in response to alleged violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. However, a source close to BCCI has said that they are not looking at alternate venues for the encounter and the match will take place as planned.
