Former Australia captain Ian Chappell feels Team India are missing star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Pant was involved in a horrific car crash in December last year and had to undergo a surgery on the injuries he had sustained from the accident. The 24-year-old is expected to be out of action for a lengthy period due to the same. Australian captain Cummins flew back home from India after the conclusion of the second Test in Delhi to be by the side of his ailing mother, Maria, who is in palliative care. After facing consecutive losses in the first two matches, Australia finally took a sigh of relief last week, thrashing India in the third Test by nine wickets. After bundling out India for just 163 runs, the visitors had a target of 76 runs which they chased down in just few hours of Day 3 at a loss of one wicket. The 78-run partnership between Travis Head (49*) and Marnus Labuschagne (28*) gave Australia a big win. As The Steve Smith-led side had a great outing on the field, the fans also could not hide their excitement at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.

India's senior-most speedster Mohammed Shami is expected to feature in the playing XI for the final Test against Australia in Ahmedabad, starting March 9 after being rested for workload management during the Indore game. The Indian team management, in consultation with medical staff, has decided to space out the pace bowlers, who are also going to play IPL regularly and are part of the ODI World Cup plan. Hence, Shami, who had played the first two Tests and is also a part of the ODI squad, was rested for the third game. In his place Umesh Yadav was drafted in as the second pacer after Mohammed Siraj.
