Shericka Jackson blew the field apart to lead home a Jamaican one-two ahead of 100m champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. Jackson’s time of 21.45s was the second fastest in history and just 0.11s shy of Florence Griffith Joyner’s world record from 1988.

Noah Lyles retained his 200 metres title as U.S. sprinters secured their second podium sweep while Shericka Jackson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce made it a 1-2 finish for Jamaica in the women's event at the World Championships on Thursday.
Jackson set a championship record of 21.45 seconds, the second fastest time ever run over the distance, for a first individual world title at Hayward Field, Eugene. Newly-crowned 100m gold medallist Fraser-Pryce took silver in 21.81sec, with defending champion Dina Asher-Smith of Britain claiming bronze (22.02).
Five days after Fred Kerley led a USA 1-2-3 in the 100m, Lyles delivered another show-stopping display at Hayward Field, scorching to victory in 19.31sec -- the fourth fastest time in history. Only Jamaicans Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake have run faster.
