JOHANNESBURG - Captain Suryakumar Yadav smashed a brilliant 100 from 56 balls as India squared the series against South Africa with an emphatic 106-run win in the third and final Twenty20 International in Johannesburg on Thursday.
Young India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal showed his batting prowess in the recently concluded five-match T20I series against Australia. In five matches, he scored 138 runs at a strike rate of 168.29, including one half-century. The Rajasthan Royals star, who made his international debut against West Indies in July this year, is widely known for his powerful hitting. He has registered one century in T20Is and one ton in Tests and has emerged an one of the most talented batters of the upcoming generation.

India pacer Deepak Chahar missed the 5th and final T20I against Australia despite only returning to action in the 4th T20I of the same series. India's interim skipper Suryakumar Yadav revealed a 'medical emergency' to be the reason behind Chahar's 11th-hour pull out from the series. Though Chahar has been named for India's T20I assignment against South Africa, it isn't yet known whether he will be able to join his teammates in the Rainbow Nation. Opening up on the situation, Chahar revealed that his father has been admitted to the hospital but he isn't in a position to leave him and fly to South Africa yet.
The Indian cricket team departed from Bengaluru on Tuesday night for their tour to South Africa. The Men in Blue, including Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, Yashasvi Jaiswal, head coach Rahul Dravid, Mohammed Siraj among others departed from Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru for the tour. The all-format tour of South Africa will kickstart from December 10 with a three-match T20I series which will go on till December 14. From December 17, the ODI leg of the white-ball series will start which will conclude on September 21.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced three separate captains in the three formats for the Indian cricket team for the upcoming tour of South Africa. While Rohit Sharma will continue as the Test captain, Suryakumar Yadav was named the T20I captain while KL Rahul will lead the side in ODIs. While the decision was largely impacted by the unavailability of Hardik Pandya due to injury, Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan was not pleased with the decision taken by the team management to go with three captains but pointed out that this can go on to be the norm in the near future.
NEW DELHI : Skipper Rohit Sharma and batter Virat Kohli will skip the white-ball leg of India's upcoming tour of South Africa, the country's cricket board said on Thursday.
