Having taken four on Day 1 of the match, the off-spinner claimed another scalp on Day 2 to register his maiden five-wicket haul in County cricket. Having picked the wickets of Will Young, Rob Keogh, Ryan Rickleton and Tom Taylor on Day 1, he dismissed Northamptonshire's top-scorer Lewis McManus to complete his five-wicket haul. He finished the innings with sparkling figures of 5/76.

India all-rounder Washington Sundar had a dream start to his County Championship debut for Lancashire as he got Northamptonshire captain Will Young's wicket with just his second delivery of the match. The New Zealand batter was caught behind as he tried to cut a short delivery from Sundar. The Northamptonshire opener fell for just 2 runs. The off-spinning all-rounder's day got even better as he went on to take four wickets to help reduce Northamptonshire to 218/7 at Stumps on Day 1 at the County Ground in Northampton.

New Zealand on Friday defeated Ireland in a last-ball thriller in the third ODI at The Village, Dublin. With the win, the Blackcaps whitewashed the hosts 3-0 in the series. The last match that went down the wire saw New Zealand winning it by a margin of one run. Though Ireland eventually lost the match, they put up an amazing fight in chase of a 361-run target set by the guests.
