Cheteshwar Pujara's red-hot form for Sussex earned him a place in the India squad on Sunday for the one-off Test against England in July. India were 2-1 ahead when the final Test at Old Trafford in September was cancelled following Covid-19 cases in their camp. Edgbaston will host the match from July 1. Pujara, dropped after India's tour of South Africa this year, was picked in the 17-member squad after his four 100-plus scores, including two double hundreds, in five county championship division two matches.

Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by five wickets on Saturday in Match 69 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season at the Wankhede Stadium and as a result, the franchise ended their season with four wins in 14 games. As a result of this win, it was Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) who progressed to the playoffs stage. If Delhi Capitals had won the match, it would have been them who would have qualified for the playoffs.
Virat Kohli and his IPL side Royal Challengers Bangalore have a shot at winning their first title after a late blitz and a bit of luck secured them a playoff spot. Bangalore, led by Faf du Plessis after Kohli stepped down, sneaked in as the fourth side to make the final four after Delhi Capitals went down to wooden-spooners Mumbai Indians on Saturday.
Batting legend Sunil Gavaskar was all praise for SunRisers Hyderabad pacer Umran Malik and made a case for the speedster to be included in India's squad for the one-off Test in England as well as the ODI series there. Malik has troubled batters throughout IPL 2022 with his raw pace and picked 21 wickets from 13 matches so far, after being retained by SRH ahead of the mega auction in February. Gavaskar said that it isn't just his speed that is impressive but also his accuracy.
Royal Challengers Bangalore's hopes of reaching the IPL 2022 playoffs rested on Mumbai Indians beating Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday. Ahead of the crunch clash, RCB had even changed to their profile pics on social media to support the Mumbai Indians. Stars like Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis publicly backed MI and hoped that Rohit Sharma's side would do them a huge favour. Come Saturday and MI did just that. They got the better of Delhi Capitals to send the latter crashing out of the tournament, paving the path for RCB to reach the playoffs instead.
Royal Challengers Bangalore made it to the IPL 2022 playoffs after Mumbai Indians did them a huge favour by beating Delhi Capitals by five wickets at the Wankhede Stadium on Saturday night. Had DC beaten Mumbai, they would have qualified for the playoffs while RCB would have missed out. But a 34-run blitz from Tim David, juxtaposed with some strange decisions from DC, saw MI emerge victorious. It was no surprise that the RCB team was over the moon with the result and some of the players, including former skipper Virat Kohli took to social media to share their elation.
